Underclassmen Surprises!

**Last Updated: 1/18/07

1. University of Arizona Junior Cornerback Antoine Cason has announced that he will return for his Senior season, to the surprise of many. Many had the physically-gifted Cason pegged as a late-1st round pick. One more season in Tucson should allow Cason to polish his coverage skills, and eliminate risky decision-making. Cason stands as one of the best secondary prospects for the 2008 NFL Draft.

2. LSU Junior Defensive Tackle Glenn Dorsey has also announced that he will return for his Senior season. This decision passes as nothing less than a shocker. Dorsey, a dominating run-stuffer who gets terrific penetration into the backfield for a player his size was a sure-fire top-20 selection in this year's draft. His decision appears in part based on injuries - assuming he stays healthy next season and through the draft process, Dorsey can expect to be a legitimate top 5-10 selection in 2008. A big-time boon for the 2007 Tigers!

3. After initially declaring for this year's draft, record-setting Hawaii Junior Quarterback Colt Brennan experienced a change of heart, and will return to school for his Senior season. This is obviously terrific news for his college coaches and teammates, but may also prove to be terrific news for Brennan himself. Whereas his chances to be selected in the 1st round this year were rather slim, Brennan figures to be a much stronger candidate for a 1st round spot in 2008. Although he still grades lower than returning Senior QB's Brian Brohm (Louisville), Chad Henne (Michigan), and John David Booty (USC), Brennan will have already established himself as an elite-level prospect entering the 2007 season, and historically, such a reality has proven very beneficial to the draft hopes of smaller-school prospects.
